Deep Creek kings: is there a daily count?
There is no daily count for Deep Creek kings any more: since 2018 Alaska Fish and Game has checked the run with an aerial survey (more below), so there are no daily numbers to follow. For a nearby daily count, see the Ninilchik River (just north) and the Anchor River (just south) king counts:
- Ninilchik River king: 840 counted in 2026, 83% of the 2019–2025 average (1,012). Half the run usually passes between Jun 10 and Jul 5, and the busiest week is usually Jun 7 to Jun 13.
- Anchor River king: 3,431 counted in 2026, 81% of the 2016–2025 average (4,248). Half the run usually passes between Jun 11 and Jul 9, and the busiest week is usually Jul 1 to Jul 7.
King salmon seasons on the Kenai Peninsula are often restricted or closed by emergency order. Check ADF&G emergency orders before you plan a trip around kings.
